The University of Northwestern Ohio and Rhodes State College provide scholarship opportunities to students to meet the objective of high student academic performance in technical education programs. “COLLEGE TECH PREP SCHOLARSHIPS” are awarded to graduates from each of the Career Technical Planning Districts (CTPD).

The scholarship recipients will be selected at each CTPD competitively by a local committee established and chaired by that technical director on the basis of academic performance in a Tech Prep curriculum, school and community service and career commitment. Each award recipient must meet both program and college entry requirements and maintain good academic standing at college. Each CTPD may elect two-half awards rather than one-full award.

The scholarship program at Rhodes State College is under the aegis of the Rhodes State College Financial Aid Director, who reviews the program periodically with the West Central Ohio Tech Prep Consortium for recommendations to the College. The Director of Financial Aid validates the process of award selection at each CTPD as well as each recipient.

The Rhodes State College Tech Prep Scholarship Award will be $2,000 divided equally over the academic year (autumn, winter and spring quarters).  In 2004 Rhodes State College Awarded over $50,000 to our Tech Prep students.  To apply for a $1,000 award at Rhodes State College Tech Prep students must apply to Rhodes State College and have an acceptance postcard turned in by June 10.

The University of Northwestern Ohio Tech Prep Scholarship Awards will be $2,000 awarded to one College Tech Prep student from each of the five participating Career Centers in Automotive Technology.

The Wright State University, (Lake Campus) Tech Prep Scholarship Awards will be $1,000 scholarships to three Tech Prep students continuing their education in Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD), from Apollo Career Center, Vantage Career Center, Millstream Career & Technology Center, or Tri-Star Career Compact.  Applications for this scholarship is located on the website and the deadline date is March 1.
