History

The West Central Ohio Tech Prep Consortium originated in 1994 through a partnership of secondary and post secondary educators, regional business industry and labor representatives. A federal Tech Prep grant funded this dynamic initiative which is now embedded in every two year public college in Ohio.  www.techprepohio.org

Under the joint administration of the Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio Department of Career & Technical Education, technical career pathways have been developed to promote the successful transition for Ohio students to post secondary institutions. A major, evolving focus of tech prep is the opportunity for high school students to earn college credit.

West Central Ohio Tech Prep Consortium continues to grow in terms of its regional partnerships and scope of programming and has received state recognition for excellence in education.
